Our client is searching for a Director & General Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for cost efficient operations, fostering strong customer relationships, expanding / growing the business, managing shop and field projects, ensuring the safety standards are maintained, and optimizing project mix to maximize unit profit. A successful candidate will have knowledge of equipment, materials, machine shop operations and customer applications engineering.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

• Coordinate operational resources and corporate sales to manage the day-to-day operations of two shop locations
• Be responsible for P&L and cost management
• Oversee the customer service team to coordinate quoting and customer proposals and optimizing product mix
• Coordinate shop operations, field operations, technical, and quality teams
• Maintain target sales backlog along with manpower and resources sufficient to meet or exceed financial targets
• Coordinate ongoing customer approval efforts with support of the local and corporate new product teams
• Closely collaborate with the Finance Team to manage costs, forecast sales and profit, and drive overall financial performance

Your strengths include :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Science
• 10+ years of combined leadership, sales, and operations experience within the thermal spray, plasma arc and high precision machining sectors
• Sales and technical experience with oil and gas, mining, refining, or petrochemical sectors
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills to foster external relationships and internal collaboration with Finance, Technology, Operational teams
• Highly developed communication, negotiation, and problem resolution skills
• Demonstrated understanding of managing financial objectives and targets within a technically-oriented business
