Job Description

Amazon.com stores and sells millions of unique items through its Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sort Centers (SC), and Delivery Stations (DS) globally. This involves managing a complex logistics network with hundreds of thousands of transportation assets in various operational states and locations worldwide.

The Relay Yard Automation (RYA) organization provides tier-1 products used by Amazon associates during line haul vehicle arrival, loading, and departure processes at over 6000 Amazon facilities across North America, Europe, and Japan. RYA products automate yard processes to enhance safety and efficiency, facilitating the arrival and departure of millions of vehicles and trailers annually. The software also plays a crucial role in performance measurement and disruption mitigation in logistics operations.

RYA software models and enforces safe standard operating procedures for associates working in hazardous trailer yards. The organization owns multiple products and services, including the Sesame app, GEM, Relay Gate, Valet app, Yard Inventory Manager (YIM), and the Yard Dashboard, which provide real-time yard visibility and support trailer pool management.

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you will design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions from concept to launch. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform code reviews, and ensure high standards of software excellence. Your role involves proactive risk management, milestone tracking, and innovation aligned with business goals, all while championing operational and product improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
