*About the role*

The System Design Specialist (SDS) – Software/Firmware will be a member of a multi-disciplined, cross-functional design team. The SDS – Software/Firmware will receive coaching and guidance from the SDC Manager and experienced members of the Advanced Engineering Group’s management team to help acclimate him to the nature of our business. He will be expected to use his engineering design and management experience to effectively prioritize and manage responsibilities and projects.

*How you will make an impact*

• Perform detailed system/subsystem design and analysis for key customers
• Provide hardware/software/firmware/dev tool support to field-based Advanced Engineers and key customers
• Support our suppliers with New Product Introductions (NPI)
• Develop application notes and technical sales aids for our field teams
• Provide project management expertise, especially for tasks outsourced to third parties or SDC counterparts globally

*Qualifications and Skills*

• BSEE or BS in Computer Engineering required; MSEE preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 3-8 years of progressive embedded system design experience in at least two of the following fields:
• 8/16-bit microcontroller hardware/firmware design
• 32-bit/ARM MCU/MPU hardware/firmware design
• Embedded Software/Firmware design with C/C++ and Linux/uCLinux/eCOS RTOS
