A leading IT solutions provider in Halifax, Canada, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support business analysis processes within a public sector environment. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, conducting detailed requirements analysis, and maintaining documentation. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of relevant experience and excellent communication skills. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, and experience with the AMANDA product suite is a key asset.
What success looks like in this role:
Provides Business Systems Analysis support within a defined business or process area.
Experience working Agile/Scrum environments with iterative development cycles
Works with supported stakeholders to understand high-level business objectives, processes, priorities and challenges.
Reviews and refines business requirements and use cases to ensure they are clear, concise and traceable.
Collaborates with internal and external users / clients to elicit business concerns and develop workable solutions.
Helps with fit/gap analysis to ensure the proposed software platform is the right solution.
Helps determine impact on existing systems and processes.
Maintains a strong and collaborative relationship with business and IT colleagues.
Supports the business in developing and delivering end user training.
Addresses end user process questions and collaborates with IT colleagues to provide process / system support and ongoing issue analysis / correction.
Develops progress reports and communicates project status to team and manager.
When required, BAs on the team should be prepared to support system testing requirements in addition to providing UAT testing support. This would involve creating and executing test plans and cases based on functional and design specifications as well as documenting test outcomes and working with the team to resolve any defects.
Some technical knowledge to assist with back end testing/validation would be an asset.
