Your Role And Responsibilities

Software Engineer well versed in Mainframe COBOL to assist with modernization conversion projects, including problem determination and resolution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with problem determination in application modernization issues in both the converted application COBOL code and internal COBOL framework.
• Resolve issues and/or make recommendations on corrections needed.
• Document issues and resolutions as required.
• Make modifications to internal COBOL framework as assigned.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Excellent COBOL, COBOL / CICS programming and debugging skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Excellent understanding of IDMS application and database usage, including tools.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Understanding of other programming languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL and DB2 Database concepts is a plus.
