Job summary
BMO Financial Group is seeking a Software Application Developer to join the Loan Servicing Technology team, supporting Loan IQ and related lending platforms. You will design, develop, and support enterprise-scale applications enabling commercial lending and loan servicing operations.
You will contribute to modernization, API and microservices development, workflow automation, cloud adoption, and AI-enabled solutions to improve delivery efficiency and solution quality.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience.
- Experience with REST APIs, Microservices, and Application Integration.
- Strong Oracle SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile delivery, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or similar container platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent.
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and AI-enabled software development practices.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI principles including security, privacy, governance, and risk management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Participate in Loan IQ enhancements, modernization initiatives, and production support activities.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, documentation, and delivery productivity.
- Contribute to workflow automation, intelligent document processing, and AI-enabled business solutions.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, risk, audit, and governance standards.

The role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications that enable commercial lending and loan servicing operations.
The successful candidate will contribute to strategic technology initiatives including Loan IQ modernization, API and microservices development, workflow automation, cloud adoption, intelligent document processing, and AI-enabled solutions. This position combines strong software engineering capabilities with modern AI-assisted development practices to improve delivery efficiency, solution quality, and operational effectiveness.

$55,500.00 - $120,000.00
Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
