Bank of Montreal in Canada seeks an experienced software engineer to own the design, development, and ongoing health of complex applications within a microservices and cloud-native architecture.
You will translate business needs into scalable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Kafka, and AWS, while mentoring junior engineers and advancing responsible AI usage across the lifecycle.
Hybrid work model with 2–3 days in office; salary range $75,900–$141,900; comprehensive benefits offered.
Demonstrated ownership of applications or services, with the ability to clearly explain what was built, your role, and the business and technical impact delivered.
Experience setting clear expectations for development quality, delivery timelines, and engineering best practices.
Proven ability to influence technical decisions and raise the bar for team performance, system quality, and operational excellence.
Experience working in enterprise environments; banking or financial services experience preferred.
Ability to set the standard for responsible AI usage, including adherence to data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance expectations.

Salary: $75,900.00 - $141,900.00
