Job summary

ThoughtStorm Inc. is recruiting a Senior Aerospace Software & Hardware Certification Engineer to lead qualification activities for airborne software and hardware.

The role requires extensive experience in major aerospace standards and regulatory guidance, with hands-on expertise in C, C++, Ada95, Assembly and Python, plus FPGA/ASIC knowledge. You will perform design reviews and safety-of-flight assessments to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technical engineering experience in aerospace.
• 10+ years in aeronautics.
• 5 years of FPGA/ASIC development and/or embedded software for aerospace.
• Expertise evaluating airborne software/hardware designs for compliance.
• Strong knowledge of RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-248B/C, and DO-330 certification standards.
• Familiarity with EASA and FAA guidance.
• Experience conducting system design reviews, certification assessments, technical audits, and safety-of-flight reviews.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Ada95, Assembly, Python.
• Knowledge of FPGA, ASIC, PLD, embedded architectures, OS, and real-time executives.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS and JAMA.
• Ability to evaluate test results, determine compliance status, and prepare design compliance reports.
