Job Description

The principle function of this role is to provide Virtual and Telehealth clinical social work services to patients and possibly their families. The successful candidate, in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team, will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and discharge planning.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide virtual short-term tele and video counseling to individuals dealing with various personal issues to enhance coping skills and improve functioning.
  • Work virtually with children, youth, and adults to provide individualized and/or crisis supports.

Requirements :

  • Master of Social Work Degree mandatory.
  • Current registration in good standing with OCSWSSW without terms, limits, or conditions.
  • Valid professional liability insurance.
  • Advanced training in clinical assessment and experience in therapy modalities (DBT, CBT, ACT) for children, adolescents, and their families is advantageous.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience working with children and families in the community and hospital settings, including inpatient units, outpatient units, and emergency rooms.
  • Knowledge of community services and resources in the GTA area.
  • Broad experience in mental health services, including case management and crisis management for children and adolescents.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to function as a team player.
  • Practice consistent with continuous quality improvement philosophy.
  • Stay updated with current literature and practice patterns.
  • Ability to work within a short-term, solution-focused model.
  • Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases.
  • Comfort using video conference platforms.
