Job Opportunity: Social Worker

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year to fill a Full-Time Term position based out of Chief Moses Ratt School (CMRS) in Sucker River, SK.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain social and emotional counselling programs for students.
  2. Provide counselling services to support student success.
  3. Assist students and parents with information on school policies, procedures, and local agencies.
  4. Monitor student attendance, including arranging home visits and phone calls to parents.
  5. Maintain student files confidentially and professionally.
  6. Communicate effectively with school staff.
  7. Maintain positive public relations on behalf of the LLRIB.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skills in planning, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and counselling.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, public relations, computer skills, and organization.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening and Driver’s Abstract.
