1 ‑ Temporary Full Time ‑ Social Worker BSW

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event

The Perinatal Social Worker will participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The Social Worker provides a
range of services to new families through pregnancy and birth, as well as services to children and families requiring
hospitalization for medical, surgical or mental health illnesses, in a patient and family centred care model. The Social
Worker requires skills in individual and family assessment and case management. Additional requirements include
the ability to work independently, provide consultative services, communicate effectively and respond to crisis
situations.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited Social Work program
* Three to five years recent experience
* Registration with the College of Certified Social workers is mandatory
* Proven skills in individual and family assessment and case management
* Ability to work independently or as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
* Ability to provide consultative services, communicate effectively and respond to crisis situations
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience with Child Protection Legislation
* Skills required in dealing with high risk psycho social situations and chemical dependancy
* Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with family members
* Excellent documentation & writing skills
* Proficiency in GroupWise, Excel, and Meditech software
Salary Range: $39.160 to 50.770
