Position Information

Temporary position until approximately August 08, 2026.

This position is for the Inpatient Psychiatry unit, B6 / D6.

Rotation / Shifts

Days, Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Master's in Social Work with a clinical concentration from a university of recognized standing;
  • Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers;
  • Recent experience working with acute and long-term psychiatric patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings;
  • Knowledge of various psychiatric illnesses, dementia, competency, etc.;
  • Excellent knowledge of community resources specific to psychiatric patients and their families;
  • Demonstrated experience in providing both group and individual counseling;
  • Ability to perform research;
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory standards regarding the provision of health services;
  • Superior written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • Superior interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching and consultation;
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary / inter-disciplinary setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training;
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
