A leading healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their multidisciplinary team. In accordance with the vision and values of the organization, the Social Worker provides comprehensive assessment, care planning, and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other healthcare providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker offers direct psychosocial care, counseling, group work, system navigation, advocacy, education, and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources, while facilitating client self-management. The Social Worker is responsible for developing and delivering social work services to maintain or improve the health, social well-being, and functioning of the identified population.
Must Have Two Years of In-Hospital Social Experience
University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility (268 beds) in Northern Health and serves as a hub for specialized health services. It features a new cancer center for Northern BC, including a wide range of cancer treatments. UHNBC provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and the University of Northern British Columbia. It is also a key clinical education site for nursing and health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT, and other institutions.
