A progressive law and counseling firm is seeking a Registered Social Worker to join their team on a part-time basis, with potential for full-time. Liu Chooti Law & Counselling Group is a multidisciplinary practice that offers legal and counselling services both independently and in tandem based on client needs. Our counselling practice focuses on individual, couples and family therapy as well as inclusion consulting and training. Our legal services focus on family law, landlord and tenant matters, civil litigation, immigration law, employment and labour law, and human rights, with plans to expand into real estate and other areas.

About the Role
We are currently seeking a Registered Social Worker (RSW) to join our team as a contract counsellor. This is a flexible part-time position (with potential to grow into full-time), offering remote and / or hybrid options. The successful candidate will focus on individual, couples, and / or family therapy. We are particularly interested in practitioners who use a combination of evidence-based, affirming practise, and culturally responsive therapeutic modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Strength-based approaches.
This position offers professional support and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative, values-driven practice. Compensation is set at CAD $30.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide counselling services to individuals, couples, and / or families.
2. Deliver trauma-informedand culturally grounded care.
3. Maintain clear, timely and confidential clinical notes.
4. Collaborate as needed with the legal team on interdisciplinary care and referrals.
5. Support clients navigating such challenges including grief, trauma, gender-affirming care, multigenerational / intergenerational trauma, displacement, family conflict, and systemic oppression.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Registered (RSW) and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service workers (OCSWSSW).
2. Master of Social Work (MSW) required; additional certification in therapeutic modalities considered an asset.
3. Minimum 2-3 years’ counselling experience preferred.
4. Professional liability insurance (covered by the firm after 9 month-probationary period).
5. Language : English required; French or additional languages a significant asset.
6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice, with a strong interest in continuous learning and growth.
7. Strong documentation skills and experience using practice management software.
8. Lived experience and / or strong dedication to understanding equity-deserving communities.
9. High compliance and ethical standard understanding required.
10.Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
11.Be available to provide evening and weekend hours as required (based on client demand).
