The Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Support Services team is seeking a dedicated Social Work Team Assistant to provide crucial support to our social workers and directly assist children, youth, and families. This role combines administrative coordination with hands-on client support, all while honoring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values of family, healing, and community connection. What You’ll Do

  • Provide direct support to Social Workers including case management assistance, file organization, and documentation under the Child, Family and Community Service Act
  • Supervise access visits between children and families, ensuring safe and supportive environments
  • Transport clients to appointments and activities, advocating for their needs
  • Assist with cultural plans and care plans, helping maintain children's connections to Squamish culture and community
  • Coordinate case conferences and meetings, taking notes and following up on action items
  • Complete referrals and applications for services to support children and families
  • Help organize community events and programming that strengthen families
  • Maintain client files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
  • Support Jordan's Principle applications and coordination when needed
  • Uphold wenáxws (respect) and snew̓íyelh (teachings) in all interactions

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in social services, child & family support, or Indigenous community work
  • Knowledge of Child, Family and Community Service Act and delegated authority processes
  • Strong organizational skills for case management and documentation
  • Ability to work sensitively with children, youth, and families in challenging situations
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices and cultural safety principles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to transport clients as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings / weekends when required for family visits or events
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary : $54,000 - 75,500

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. Weare committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
