Job summary

The Sheridan Student Union Inc. seeks a Supervisor, Social Media Team to oversee the Social Media Coordinators, plan team objectives and enhance student life across SSU channels.

This in-person role requires travel to Oakville, Mississauga and Brampton campuses, up to 35 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $20.89 per hour. You will implement campaigns, maintain content calendars, and report on engagement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in business, marketing, graphic design or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a marketing related position.
• Comfortable appearing on SSU social channels as a representative.
• Strong understanding of social media/digital marketing platforms.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills.
• Proactive and able to take initiative.
• Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills – online and in person.
• Experience with Canva, Cap Cut or Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, After effects, Premiere Pro) is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team accountably.
• Approachable, friendly, and reliable.
• Able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Passionate about the SheridanLife & knowledgeable about all things SSU.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day workflow of Social Media Coordinators and maintain SSU’s content calendar.
• Execute effective social media strategies and assist in content creation for SSU channels (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook and YouTube).
• Report monthly engagement metrics and team performance to the Manager.
• Assist in training materials and onboarding for Social Media Coordinators.
• Monitor comments on Meta and TikTok, respond to messages, engage with students.
• Liaise with departments to promote events, services, clubs, governance and initiatives.
• Review team content before publication for accuracy and brand voice.
• Attend SSU events to engage students with live social media content as needed.
• Support SSU photography, videography and multimedia content from strategy to delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
