To date, GHTA has provided education to 1,000+ women and supported the start-up of 32 local women-led businesses in Moshi. GHTA is looking for a creative Web Designer who can volunteer some of their time to update the GHTA website www.giveahearttoafrica.org, specifically strengthening navigation and analytical features to generate more traffic to the website and increase retention with the end goal of promoting the importance of women's economic empowerment to a variety of audiences. The website is live but requires some updates to strengthen its functionality and improve user engagement. This opportunity is ideal for a student currently studying web design and / or computer science who would like to hone their technical skills and / or update their portfolio or a seasoned professional who would like to volunteer their time to support a valuable cause.

  • Organize the content to ensure visitors can move around the site easily and intuitively.
  • Optimize Google Analytics to increase user traffic (e.g., increased visibility in search results), specifically to enhance content, improve user experience and improve marketing efforts.
  • Provide options of design standards to ensure GHTA's website is easy-to-use and attractive to various audiences, including potential partners, donors and volunteers.
  • Design visuals that are consistent with GHTA's branding and marketing plans as well as overall look.
  • Prepare site maps and design mock-ups to gain approval from GHTA for proposed changes that are needed and / or relevant.
  • Work with the GHTA team to create content for the website, including photos and videos.
  • Ensure the web design meets web accessibility standards for people using assistive technologies, such as screen readers.

QUALIFICATIONS
