Social Media Designer / Animator (Contract)

Join to apply for the Social Media Designer / Animator (Contract) role at Loblaw Agency.

We’re looking for a social media obsessed designer with exceptional motion design experience. You should be highly knowledgeable about social media platforms, current social trends, and the importance of paid and organic campaigns.

This contract role with full-time hours is vital to the newly created social media Centre of Excellence (COE). You will drive creative concepts for major campaigns and develop assets to entertain our customers across all social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret creative briefs and deliver engaging, on-brand, social-friendly assets for various audiences across the enterprise (beauty, grocery, lifestyle, loyalty, etc.).
  • Ideate and execute static and motion concepts for social media channels across multiple brands, for campaigns, paid media, and organic content.
  • Provide a confident creative point of view while collaborating with other creative and social team members, as well as internal and external stakeholders (e.g., marketing teams, videographers, producers).
  • Pitch, present, and champion the best ideas and concepts to senior team members.
  • Research industry and consumer trends, including emerging social trends, and provide recommendations based on best practices.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail according to brand guidelines and standards.
What You’ll Need
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in design, new media arts, creative advertising, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in an agency or in-house creative environment.
  • Motion design skills using After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Portfolio must include social media work demonstrating social media-first abilities.
  • Knowledge of lighting and the ability to capture social video content is a bonus.
  • Consistently deliver assets on-time and on-brief.
  • Ability to articulate and present work to internal and external teams.
  • Positive, proactive problem-solving attitude—resourceful and innovative, with a big-picture view.
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and project management skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
