Position Description: The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and enhancing Nine PBS’s social media presence across platforms to increase audience engagement, brand awareness, and support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of writing for social media and the ability to implement the station’s strategy across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and more. This role is situated on our Content Team and reports directly to the Digital Engagement Manager. In addition to collaborating with members of the Content Team, this role will also work in alignment with members of the Communications, Impact, and Individual Giving teams to create cohesive and compelling digital communications.

The ideal candidate for this position is a creative and dynamic thinker with a passion for storytelling, community engagement, and public service. They will be experienced in the social media landscape, with a strong visual sensibility, sharp copywriting skills, and a data-informed mindset. It’s vital for this individual to build trust with diverse audiences, elevate brand voice across platforms, and care deeply about fostering inclusive, meaningful connections with a digital community. This position will require the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines. This position will report to the Digital Engagement Manager on the Content team.

Primary Responsibilities: The following primary responsibilities are vital to successfully meeting the expectations of this position in an effective and efficient manner. This is not an exhaustive list, and areas of focus may fluctuate, as needed, between primary and secondary responsibilities.
-Create and distribute content in alignment with organizational priorities for daily Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn posts.
-Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the social media calendar.
-Monitor various social media platforms for needs related to customer service inquiries and responses.
-Understand who Nine PBS is, including the brand, audience, goals, and other aspects of mission.
-Assist in the creation of graphics and visual assets for posts.

Secondary Responsibilities: These are additional activities that are expected to be performed in this position.
-Track metrics and create performance reports on an ongoing basis.
-Be able to effectively understand and implement brand voice and tone.
-Be able to effectively write and edit engaging content tailored for various platforms.
-Effectively support the work of cross-department teams.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, with at least 1-2 years of experience in digital media, journalism, marketing, or other related fields. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office applications such as Adobe. Strong knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube). Experience with SproutSocial a plus. Sound understanding of SEO, web traffic data, and digital metrics. Demonstrated proficiency in organizational skills, writing ability, and attention to detail.

Hybrid Schedule: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule, typically working 1-2 days virtually each week, upon approval from supervisor. Must work on-site on Tuesdays, as well as attend all team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and all-staff meetings.
