Our main marketing activities include the flyer program, eblast program, Ren’s Rewards loyalty group, partners & charities, plus significant online, social, & digital advertising to support a thriving ecommerce business.

We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our marketing team on an 18-month maternity leave contract. In this role, you will create and manage engaging content across Ren’s Pets’ social channels, support campaigns and events, track performance, and help drive brand engagement. This hybrid position is based out of our head office in Puslinch, just outside Guelph, Ontario, and will involve travel to stores, marketing events, and grand openings.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy, Tactics, & Execution

  • Assist in managing and monitoring all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop social media campaigns that help to achieve marketing goals
  • Schedule and create engaging text, video, and image content/posts focused on ‘for your pet’s best life’ to support the Ren’s brand
  • Monitor social channel traffic, engagement, and report on stats weekly and monthly
  • Support Ren’s Pet Approved and Influencer programs as needed
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute videos, vendors partnerships, on site events, and more
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Experience as a social media coordinator, ideally in retail
  • Strong knowledge of all social media channels
  • Experience with scheduling platform social commerce & Hootsuite
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo, video, text), presentation, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to stores, marketing events, and grand openings as required
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Must like pets (you’ll be working closely with them, along with pet parents!)
