POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Media and Web Administrator position is an entry-level role responsible for social media content creation, community engagement, and supporting our digital marketing initiatives. This position requires working on-site 3 days per week at our Guelph laboratory facility to create compelling on-location content including videos, photos, and other multimedia assets that leverage and empower our marketing strategy. The Social Media and Web Administrator professional will focus on building and nurturing online communities across social media platforms, creating engaging content, managing basic website updates, and supporting lead qualification efforts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSocial Media & Community Management

  • Execute social media strategy across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Manage content calendar and ensure consistent posting schedule
  • Engage with online communities and foster community growth through meaningful interactions
  • Create engaging and visually appealing content that aligns with the company's brand standards
  • Monitor community engagement metrics and response times

Content Creation & Production

  • Create compelling on-site content including videos, photos, and multimedia assets at our Guelph laboratory
  • Utilize video editing and visual software tools to produce high-quality content
  • Apply graphic design principles to create social media graphics and digital assets
  • Develop content that leverages and empowers our overall marketing strategy
  • Ensure all content maintains brand consistency and quality standards
  • Support preparation of branded materials including swag, gifts, conference materials, and client onboarding packages

Website Management & Analytics

  • Perform basic website updates and content management using WordPress
  • Publish blog posts and update website content as needed
  • Monitor and report on social media analytics and community growth metrics
  • Track engagement rates and content performance
  • Assist with lead qualification processes
  • Support sales team with content and community insights
  • Contribute to sales conversion through community engagement

Performance Accountability & Reporting

In this role, success will be measured across key performance areas, including :

  • Social Media Engagement - Activity and growth across all platforms
  • Audience Growth - Increase in followers, subscribers, and reach
  • Video Performance - YouTube watch time and content views
  • Website & SEO Traffic - New users, search impressions, and clicks
  • Content Consistency & Quality - Publishing cadence and brand alignment
  • Blog & Landing Page Optimization - Regular updates with SEO best practices
  • Community Responsiveness - Engagement with comments and messages
  • Lead Support & Conversion Impact - Supporting the marketing funnel with qualified traffic

Performance will be supported by clear KPIs reviewed regularly with the Marketing Manager, and aligned to team-wide goals.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

  • Basic proficiency in video editing software and techniques (Premiere Pro or CapCut experience preferred)
  • Basic graphic design capabilities and knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Basic WordPress skills for website updates and content management
  • Content creation abilities including photography and videography
  • Analytics tools familiarity for tracking engagement and performance
  • Basic understanding of content calendar management
  • Copywriting skills with ability to create compelling content for social media and blogs
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and business management software (NetSuite an asset)

Professional Requirements

  • Approximately 3 years of experience in social media and digital marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations and client facilities for content creation as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for community engagement and brand messaging
  • Detail-oriented approach to content creation and community management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet content deadlines
  • Creative mindset with ability to produce engaging multimedia content

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

The Company will provide the following equipment for content creation and distribution.

  • Access to professional software including HubSpot (CRM), Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, and NetSuite
  • Content approval workflow system for publishing compliance
  • Analytics and reporting tools for performance tracking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field
  • 1-3 years of social media management experience
  • Cannabis industry knowledge preferred
  • Experience with lead qualification processes
  • CRM knowledge and experience - hubspot or Netsuite
  • Community management experience with proven engagement growth
  • Copywriting experience with demonstrated ability to create compelling social media and blog content
