Position & Team Overview

FinDev Canada’s Marketing and communications team is looking for an Advisor to manage the organization’s social media presence and position the organization as a leader in the industry through engaging content. The successful candidate will collaborate with the current external social media vendor on the internalization of this function into FinDev Canada.

The ideal candidate has experience developing social media strategies that contribute meaningfully to corporate objectives. They can execute this strategy and adapt to changes in the operating landscape. They can also improve processes to optimize outputs and outcomes, choose the right metrics to measure success and analyze these metrics to improve future campaign performance. The ideal candidate displays initiative and curiosity, continuously learning about our industry and the evolution of our ecosystem. They have a strategic mindset, leveraging our social media presence to increase the organization's visibility and positioning.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop a social media strategy for FinDev Canada with focus on LinkedIn and X, to build awareness, position the organization as a thought leader in the development finance space and complement other engagement activities of the organization.
  • Plan and execute promotion of all events and Executive engagement for which there are social media opportunities, working with relevant internal and external partners to create campaigns before, during and after the engagements.
  • Create and manage the organization’s social media content calendar, following the latest news, trends and developments in the industry and incorporating these considerations into the content planning process.
  • Develop and publish socialcontent, including text, images and videos, working in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team for blog creation.Will be responsible for future content creation needs, among other types of content, as well as steady publication of content across all socials.
  • Measure and analyze the performance of our social media strategy and content through appropriate KPIs, identify areas of success and improvement, and regularly report and present to the team.
  • Refine and update our social media strategy and calendar according to performance and organizational priorities.

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves

  • Educational Background : Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience : 5-7 years of experience in social media management.
  • Language Proficiency : Strong written and verbal skills in both English and French.
  • Communication skills: Exceptional written communication abilities.
  • Social Media Expertise: In-depth knowledge of social media management best practices.
  • Tool Proficiency: Mastery of social media management and content creation tools, including Hootsuite and Canva.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the financial industry or government institutions.
  • Additional Language Skills: Proficiency in Spanish.
