Job description

The Social Media Advisor will work collaboratively within the Communications team and with internal customers to support the J.D. Irving group companies based in Moncton, NB. The Social Media Advisor plays a key role in leading the various companies’ social media presences through content planning, copywriting, social media management, community management, monitoring, and reporting. We work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple campaigns and pressing deadlines.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or college certificate in public relations, communications, marketing, or related experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience directly managing a brand's social media presence.
  • The position requires excellent copywriting and editing skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using social media platforms and analytics tools (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram).
  • Must have superior time and project management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while meeting deadlines effectively, efficiently, and independently.
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing requirements and work well under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams.
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively, and take the initiative.
  • Possess interpersonal skills and the ability to manage senior stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Be a team player who is committed, optimistic, enthusiastic, and creative.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day creation, publishing, and monitoring of online channels and platforms for J.D. Irving’s Moncton-based companies.
  • Maintain and update brand guides for social/online content tools. Work with internal clients and subject matter experts to create timely, relevant, and impactful content to build brand awareness and engage audiences in new ways.
  • Maintain a strong community management strategy to monitor social accounts and advise J.D. Irving’s Moncton-based companies on their community management approach.
  • Monitor and track performance to produce reports that identify best performing content and provide analysis on insights and targets. Experience with enablement tools for content creation, management, publishing, listening, engagement, and reporting is required.
  • Support and advise on social media efforts across J.D. Irving’s Moncton-based companies to increase brand awareness online and grow the online presence.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices and proactively make recommendations accordingly.
  • Identify, research, assess and create editorial content for external use across the organization, reflecting the company’s values.
  • Work collaboratively with graphic designers to assist in the development of materials for publication.
