Job Description:

SOC Automation Engineer

Client: Financial Services
Location: Downtown Toronto (1 day in office per week)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week

About the Role:

We are proactively seeking talented candidates for an upcoming opportunity as a SOC Automation Engineer. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in development and coding, particularly in automating security operations using Microsoft Sentinel or Palo Alto SOAR platforms. The focus of this position is on automation rather than day-to-day operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement automation solutions for SOC processes using Microsoft Sentinel or Palo Alto SOAR platforms.
2. Collaborate with the SOC team to identify areas for automation and enhance existing workflows.
3. Integrate various security tools and technologies to streamline alert management and incident response.
4. Maintain and enhance the current tech stack, including Microsoft Sentinel, NextGen, Defender, and Palo Alto firewalls.
5. Provide technical expertise and support for the transition from Blue Course to Palo Alto firewalls.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in development and coding, especially in security automation.
2. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and/or Palo Alto SOAR platforms.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft security products (Sentinel, NextGen, Defender) and Palo Alto firewalls.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with case management using SOAR platforms.
2. Knowledge of proxy gateways and firewall technologies.
3. Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools.
