Snowplow Operators, Highway Maintenance Operations

Position Details

Location: Grimshaw, AB

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Operate spreader, plow wing, combo unit, or tow plow safely and efficiently to clear local roads as per contract requirements.
  • Operate specialized winter equipment.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine maintenance, including minor repairs.
  • Review route maps and application rates.
  • Keep accurate records of hours of service, safety reports, and fuel usage.
  • Follow HSE fundamentals.
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspection checks of equipment and log in logs.
  • Report equipment defects or maintenance issues to the Foreman/Superintendent.
  • Check and refill fuels and fluids to required specifications, logging refueling activities.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required (daily, weekly, etc.).
  • Participate in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with off-road and winter driving.
  • Experience in highway maintenance, including winter maintenance, surface repairs, roadside, and bridge maintenance.
  • Ability to work day/night shifts and be on-call.
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license.
  • Good standing driver’s abstract.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
