Qualifications

Do you have snowmaking experience? Are you looking to step into a leadership position? We are looking to hire a Snowmaking Lead Hand for our Slopes department for the upcoming winter season. We have a state-of-the-art fleet consisting of 40 machines with the addition of Snow Secure and Automation to help track usage this season. Can you work alone or in a team? There is also an opportunity to move to the grooming department once snowmaking is finished for the season. We are passionate about maintaining and protecting the Flora and Fauna within the outdoor recreational spaces and ensuring a high-quality experience for guests and encourage you to join us in creating memorable experiences in our 4-seasons resort.

Compensation Information: $22.10 to $24.10 per hour (dependent on skills/experience)

Physical Requirement: Heavy; work activities involve handling loads up to 35 kg; predominantly in an outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Two or more seasons of snowmaking experience.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of current WorkSafeBC standards as related to the workplace.
  • Able to work both alone and as part of a team.
  • Able to run a snowmobile with confidence.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work shift-work and odd hours with some overtime when required.
  • Be dependable, timely and cooperative.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all SPR policies are adhered to as outlined in the current Employee handbook, as well as all applicable WorkSafe regulations & any other applicable industry regulations.
  • Lead, designate and make decisions in all types of situations.
  • Supervision and motivation of staff.
  • Understand and work towards department’s and company’s goals and objectives.
  • Observe carefully and adhere to all company safety, operating and maintenance Guidelines.
  • Follow instruction, paying close attention to detail.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship in communication and respect for equipment, co-workers and quality of product.
  • Perform pre-start up inspections, walk-around checks and maintain all machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to mountain operating procedures.
