Job summary

The Miller Group is hiring Snow Plow Operators in Ontario to safely operate combo plow units and perform snow removal on local roads and highways under contract supervision. You will maintain fuel and safety records, log hours, and perform routine equipment maintenance.

This role requires DZ/AZ licensing, willingness to work extended winter shifts including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work in extreme weather. Competitive hourly pay and a strong safety culture are offered.

Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract & CVOR.
• Respond to call-ins within thirty minutes.
• Operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such as patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require.
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract & CVOR

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission
• Previous experience in winter-works operations
• Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
• Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements

Compensation Data

Hourly rate: $28-$30.57/hr

Day in the Life

Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements under the direction from Shift Supervisor and Patrollers. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance, minor repairs, and any other maintenance duties as required. You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.
