Job summary

The Miller Group in Ontario is hiring Snow Plow Operators for winter maintenance. You will safely operate a combo plow unit to remove snow on local roads and highways under supervision, and perform routine documentation and upkeep.

This role requires a DZ or AZ license, quick call-ins, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extreme weather conditions. We offer competitive hourly pay and a stable winter season with training and safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license required with clean driver's abstract & CVOR.
• Must be available to respond to call-ins within 30 minutes.
• Ability to operate a loader and perform maintenance duties (patrolling, patching, minor repairs).
• Willingness to work assigned shifts including evenings, weekends, nights and holidays in winter.

Minimum Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract & CVOR
• Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
• Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such a patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
• Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission
• Previous experience in winter-works operations
• Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
• Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements

Compensation Data

Hourly rate: $28-$30.57/hr

Day in the Life

Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements under the direction from Shift Supervisor and Patrollers. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance, minor repairs, and any other maintenance duties as required. You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.
