Job summary

The Miller Group, a leader in Ontario's winter maintenance, seeks Snow Plow Operators to safely manage plow units and support contracts on local roads and highways. You will document fuel, safety, and hours, while performing routine maintenance and ensuring route maps and salt application details are understood.

Shifts include evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays during winter events. A valid DZ/ AZ license with a clean record is required, along with the ability to operate loader equipment

Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driving record & CVOR.
• Able to respond to call-ins within 30 minutes.
• Ability to operate a loader and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.

Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ministry of Transportation throughout Ontario. Minimum Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract & CVOR
• Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
• Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such a patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
• Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to drive manual transmission
• Previous experience in winter-works operations
• Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
• Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements

$28.35/hr

Day in the Life

Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarise yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.
