Job summary

The Miller Group is seeking Snow Plow Operators for Ontario winter maintenance. You will safely operate a combo plow unit on local roads and highways, perform snow removal, and manage fuel, safety, and hours-of-service reports.

You will also perform routine equipment maintenance and follow route maps and salting protocols. We value safety, reliability, and community service, with shifts including evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
• Ability to operate a loader and perform maintenance duties
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, nights and holidays
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Operate a snow plow unit to remove snow on local roads/highways
• Maintain accurate documentation (fuel, safety, hours of service) and perform routine maintenance
• Familiarize with route maps, sand/salt application, and call-in requirements during winter events
• Ensure equipment is clean and ready between shifts
• Contribute to keeping communities safe during winter operations

Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ministry of Transportation throughout Ontario. Minimum Qualifications:

• DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract required & CVOR
• Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
• Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties
• Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in winter-works operations
• Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required

Day in the Life

Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.
