Certified Nursing Assistant – Casual Position

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Health Care Aide Certification recognized by Alberta Health Services
• Geriatric experience preferred
• Current First Aid/CPR certification

Position Requirements

• Genuine interest in caring for the elderly in a geriatric environment
• Practical experience with seniors, patience, tactfulness
• Ability to observe and report changes in residents’ conditions
• Willingness to perform simple, repetitive tasks
• Knowledge of activities of daily living assistance
• Ability to accept supervision, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a positive attitude
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Clear communication in English, both verbal and written
• Complete documentation, follow medication procedures, and record accurately
• Problem-solving skills, awareness of medication schedules, and expiry dates
• Physical ability to perform related tasks

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene
• Support residents with daily activities, meals, and socialization
• Monitor and report health changes
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of residents’ environment
• Follow infection control precautions and safety protocols
• Attend training and team meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned
