Job description

Job Title: Integration Business Analyst – BizTalk Specialist
Location: Fredericton, NB
Duration: 12 Months

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The candidate must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or hold a certification in Information Technology from a recognized community college. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) sector is required.

  • The candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience developing integration solutions using Microsoft BizTalk Server.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English are essential.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing integration solutions using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013, 2016, or 2020. This includes working with integration solutions that involve web services/APIs, File/FTP transfers, database interactions, workflows, and secure authentication mechanisms. Candidates should be able to describe their specific roles and responsibilities on referenced projects, the version(s) of BizTalk used, duration of experience with each version, scope and type of systems integrated, and specific technical details of the solutions developed.

  • Experience engaging and collaborating with both business unit subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical SMEs to elicit requirements and define processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their approach to gathering information—including communication methods, research tactics, and depth of inquiry—as well as the types of deliverables generated from these activities.

  • Strong background in application integration design and implementation. The candidate should describe the nature of analysis completed, whether the work involved designing a new solution or enhancing an existing one, and how key decision points were evaluated. Details on deliverables should also be provided.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft development technologies, specifically C#, .NET, XML, and XSLT. The candidate should provide detailed information on their experience with each technology, including the number of months or years of hands-on use.

  • Experience developing HL7 v2.x interfaces using Microsoft BizTalk Server (2013/2016/2020) is considered an asset. Applicants should describe their involvement in projects where HL7 interfaces were implemented, including the version of BizTalk used, duration of involvement, systems integrated, specific details of the integration solution, and the candidate’s role and responsibilities.
