Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Follow process sheets and supervisor instructions to complete tasks on time.

Job description

The SMT operator manages automated machinery to assemble electronic components on PCBs, performing machine setup, quality control checks, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires a high school diploma, mechanical skills, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens, according to work order specifications.
  • Monitor machines during production, making necessary adjustments to speed and other settings to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, checking against quality standards like IPC-A-610.
  • Perform routine maintenance on SMT machines to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and processes to solve problems and reduce defects.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, maintain a clean and organized work area, and report any accidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Follow process sheets and written instructions from supervisors and ensure all production tasks are completed on time.
