Shift(s): Rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven professional to join us as a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Shift Operations Manager in Training. Reporting to the Director of SMR Plant Operations, this role oversees all shift activities, ensuring operations align with legal, safety, environmental, and operational standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the safe operation of reactor units under normal and transient conditions as per the Power Reactor Operating License.
  • Handle emergency incidents following nuclear and safety protocols, coordinating with internal and external teams and providing technical support to authorities and contractors.
  • Set and manage station priorities, liaising with maintenance and engineering to resolve safety and operational issues.
  • Conduct training, drills, and evaluations; develop improvement plans for performance gaps.
  • Maintain nuclear certification through ongoing training and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 with 3 university prep courses in Math, Physics, and Chemistry, or equivalent education and experience, or a relevant trade certification.
  • Proven experience operating or working with Boiling Water Reactors (BWR).
  • Operational experience and supervisory or managerial background preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
