Job summary

Park Paving Ltd. in Edmonton and surrounding areas is seeking a skilled SMALL ENGINE MECHANIC to join our Maintenance Facility. You will service our Edmonton-area construction operations and keep small engine equipment running smoothly.

Successful candidates will be licensed Small Engine Mechanics with a valid driver’s license and strong knowledge of a wide range of power equipment. Competent in diagnosis, repair, and safe, respectful work practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed Small Engine Mechanic with a valid driver’s license.
• Experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on power equipment.
• Ability to coordinate equipment logistics with other divisions and schedule maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain small engine equipment in the maintenance facility.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on power equipment (plate tampers, jumping jacks, portable generators, pumps, trimmers, etc.).
• Coordinate distribution and return of equipment with other divisions and schedule repairs with shop activities.

Job description

Park Paving Ltd.has been a locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton and surrounding areas, and we are looking for aSMALL ENGINE MECHANICto work in our Maintenance Facility to help service our Edmonton and surrounding area construction operations.

In this position, you will primarily perform a range of skilled repair and maintenance work on small engine equipment. Responsibilities include inspection, diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on power equipment such as plate tampers, jumping jacks, portable generators, motorized pumps, trimmers, and so on. You will also be expected to coordinate the distribution and return of said equipment with other company divisions while also scheduling repairs and maintenance in conjunction with other shop and company activities.

Work involves procedures of a technical nature and uses hand/power tools and a variety of test equipment. The job works with minimal supervision but may include working with other shop personnel in completing projects and activities. There is considerable discretion exercised by the incumbent in the performance of regular duties.

Successful candidates will be licensed Small Engine Mechanics with a valid driver license and have a strong operating knowledge of a wide-range of power equipment that will allow them to effectively diagnose and repair any potential problem in conjunction with their direct supervisors, and other employees while maintaining an positive and respectful work environment.
