As the SBU Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance specific to colleagues and clients in H&B Canada’s Small Business Unit (SBU). Additionally, you will dedicate at least 50% of your time to leading a book of business comprising SBU and mid-market clients. The role reports into the Operations function.
The Role
- You bring our new operating model to life by ensuring colleagues incorporate our new ways of working into all client work that meets SBU criteria. This includes leveraging our Data Management Team (DMT) and Business Support Services to deliver core outputs using SBU tools, templates, and processes, while referring opportunities outside the SBU scope to FAA&P or other Client Service Team (CST) colleagues.
- You have a deep understanding of our workflows and serve as a role model, demonstrating best practices to local colleagues on working with the DMT.
- You foster effective communication with the DMT and SBU colleagues, emphasizing the importance of timely feedback and sharing insights on errors or best practices for swift resolution.
- You act as a knowledge resource, benefits coach, and trainer, providing individual and team-wide support to enhance skills and understanding.
- You oversee and conduct Technical Reviews (TRs) and Consulting Reviews (CRs) to ensure deliverables meet comprehensiveness, accuracy, and WTW standards.
- You manage colleague performance throughout the year, including conducting evaluations and supporting career development. You work to maximize team potential and address performance issues, collaborating with the Toronto Market Leader as needed.
- You collaborate with the Toronto Market Leader on recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
- You identify opportunities for process improvements, working with the Operations Leader, Market Leaders, SDL, and FAA&P to enhance quality, tools, templates, and processes, and to escalate learning opportunities for colleagues and the DMT.
- You work with WTW sales leaders to scope and onboard new clients, ensuring appropriate allocation to experienced SBU colleagues.
- You ensure adherence to best practices regarding scoping, pricing, delivery within scope, and invoicing to maintain strong financial performance across the SBU book of business.
- You oversee the team to ensure all SBU clients have accurate and current data in our tools, providing timely feedback to support DMT growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience, with familiarity across various client sizes and complexities.
- Strong understanding of the small market, client needs, and available insurance offerings.
