Job summary

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is seeking a skilled Sleep Technologist for night schedules with high ethical standards. Reporting to Clinic Leader, you will perform polysomnographic testing and ensure patient safety across clinics in the GTA region.

The role requires 2–3 years PSGT/RPSGT experience, experience with Sandman and Alice equipment, and the ability to work nights and travel as needed. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in sciences or related Allied Health field.
• 2–3 years PSGT/RPSGT experience.
• Experience with L1 scoring, MSLTs, and MWTs; Sandman and Alice equipment.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work night shifts and travel to GTA clinics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper performance of polysomnographic procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic services.
• Prepare documentation and room for data collection.
• Direct patient contact: explain procedures, set up overnight study, address questions, monitor study.
• Prepare sleep rooms prior to patient arrival.
• Explain testing procedures clearly; address queries.
• Assist patients with equipment and ensure sleep study safety.

Responsibilities

• The Polysomnographic Technologist ensures the proper performance of all procedures relating tothe accurate, safe operation of all diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic services providedby our clinics.
• Prepare the documentation and room for data collection.
• This role involves direct patient contact including describing the procedures, setting-up thepatient for the overnight study, addressing questions, resolving technical or equipment issues andmonitoring the sleep study throughout the evening.
• Prepare the sleep rooms for sleep studies prior to patients’ arrival.
• Explain testing procedures in a clear and concise manner; answer patients’ queries/concerns.
• Assist patients with the use of equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and always maintain professional standards.
• Perform and assist with duties in the pediatric and research labs.
• Ability to work independently in a time-efficient manner according to set protocols and policies.

Qualification & Experience

• Relevant and completed post-secondary education -- BSc (Sciences) BA in Psychology, Biology,Neuroscience. Allied Health care professional.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and ability to work independently.
• A focus on high-quality patient care. Enthusiasm for learning.
• 2-3 years of experience as a PSGT/RPSGT.
• Experience with scoring L1 studies, performing MSLTS and MWTs. Experience working withSandman and Alice equipment.
• Interest in growing your skills to assume leadership responsibilities is an asset. A proven trackrecord of delivering high quality patient care.
• Experience having handled technical projects, managing people, assisting in a clinic launch,leading the process of installing new equipment or dealing with multiple locations is an asset.
• Ability to work night shifts.
• Ability to work, as needed, at other clinics within the GTA is a strong asset

This role is for an existing vacancy. The expected hiring range for this role is from $24 - $25 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience level, and internal equity. Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered at a higher level with adjusted compensation for certain roles.
