About the Position
ADM is looking for millwrights and electricians for the maintenance department at its Windsor crush and oil refinery facility. This position requires the millwright or electrician to perform various tasks related to the maintenance activities in a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate must have a good mechanical and electrical background and be able to provide support for preventative and failure-based maintenance. This position is under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent and/or Maintenance Lead Hand.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibility of the Maintenance Millwright is to maintain all aspects of mechanical equipment and power transmission including, but not limited to:
- Working within established safety standards and practices,
- Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment,
- Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision,
- Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance,
- Reading equipment drawings and documentation,
- Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.,
- Communicating well both in writing and verbally.
Primary responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician is to maintain all aspects of mechanical equipment and power transmission including, but not limited to:
- Working within established safety standards and practices,
- Troubleshooting industrial controls, including AB PLCs, VFDs, motor control systems, and electronic equipment,
- Install conduits and wiring,
- Install lighting fixtures, transformers, switchgear, conduit, PLC controlled systems, motors and conveying systems,
- Install a wide variety of electrical devices and control circuits,
- Repair/rebuild/perform upgrades to electrical equipment,
- Troubleshooting electrical failures,
- Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment,
- Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision,
- Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance,
- Reading equipment drawings and documentation,
- Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.,
- Communicating well both in writing and verbally.
- The candidate must have a high degree of mechanical competence,
- Strong knowledge of all applicable OHSA standards, GMP's, HACCP and other applicable food and feed safety standards,
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within industrial maintenance,
- Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding,
- Creativity in problem solving, able to work under time constraints and must be adaptable, dependable and a self-starter,
- Initiate work based on general instructions from management.

- Initiate work based on general instructions from management.
Education or Work ExperienceMaintenance Millwright
- Must have the following trade certificate: 443A Industrial Millwright,
- Two (2) years' experience as a journeyman is preferred
Maintenance Electrician
- Must have the following trade certificates: 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician
- Two (2) years' experience as a journeyman is preferred
Additional InformationWill be required to work overtime and take call-ins on evenings and weekends as needed.
