Job summary

Surrey Construction Inc. in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a skilled rough and finish carpenter to join our framing and renovation team. You will help frame, build and finish structures using wood and metal studs, and read project plans.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. WHMIS and Working at Heights completion is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in rough and finish carpentry.
• Able to read measurements and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• WHMIS and Working at Heights completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Frame, cut, and finish carpentry work with wood and metal studs.
• Assemble and fasten materials to form wood/metal framework.
• Load, unload materials and distribute per project plans.
• Safely operate hand and power tools; maintain equipment.
• Read and interpret measurements and orders.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

We are a dynamic team that takes pride in our work and enjoy variety in our projects across the GTA.We are searching for a rough and finish carpenter who is honest, reliable, dedicated worker who has the drive and ambition to grow with an expanding company.**Duties include but not limited to:*** Framing, cutting, and FINISH carpentry work with wood and metal stud* sAssemble and fasten materials together to construct wood or metal framework of structure.Anchor and brace forms.Install rough frames, temporary supports in structures undergoing construction or repair.Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.Ability to perform various types of physical labour including moderate to heavy lifting, standing, bending, etc.Use of mitre saws, drills, skil saw etc.Safe operations, cleaning and maintenance of hand tools, power tool and machinery.Able to exercise good judgment in load handling, placement of equipment and materialAbility to read and understand measurements and work orders.
