Qualifications

  • 2 years of working experience as a Painter.
  • Respirator Fit Test certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning as necessary.
  • Remove old wallpaper and loose paint using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings using spackle, putty, and other materials.
  • Sandpaper and apply sealer to surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.
  • Select and mix paint colours and adjust viscosity to obtain desired colour and texture.
  • Apply paint with brushes, rollers, or sprayers to ensure even coverage and clean edges.
  • Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and fabric to walls.
  • Maintain painting equipment and materials including stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish.
  • Assemble scaffolding and ensure safety measures.
