Job summary

GenMec ACL Inc in Cold Lake, Alberta is seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team. This contract role supports site operations with independence and requires safety-conscious, quality-focused work.

The position involves assisting trades, operating hand and power tools, and handling materials. Work is in-person with 10-hour days on a 2–3 month project, with potential for continued employment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in commercial or civil construction.
• Driver's license.
• Solid understanding of construction tools, materials, and methods.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting 50+ lbs.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Good understanding of workplace safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties with minimal supervision.
• Assist skilled tradespeople and equipment operators with a higher level of competency.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment.
• Assist with site preparation, grading, measuring, and basic layout tasks.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times.
• Follow and enforce company and site-specific safety procedures.
• Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents promptly.
• Support material staging and organization to improve workflow efficiency.
• Assist in training and supporting Labourer I employees as required.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
