Position: Construction Labourer with Room to Advance to Team Lead

Education

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.) are assets but not required.

Relevant Certificates: WorkSafeBC Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.

Experience

Will train suitable candidates.

Specific Skills

• Remove rubble and debris at construction sites
• Mix, pour, and spread materials
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Assist in demolishing buildings
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, etc.
• Clean and pile salvaged materials
• Clean up chemical spills and contaminants

Equipment and Machinery Experience

• Drills
• Reciprocating saws
• Circular saws

Work Environment

Residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional sites.

Physical Requirements

Handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs); physically demanding tasks; handling heavy loads; work in various locations including outdoors, confined spaces, and at heights.

Security and Safety

• Driving record check (abstract)
• Criminal record check

Own Tools / Equipment

Required for confined spaces, outdoor work, and working at heights.

Transportation / Travel

Own transportation required; vehicle supplied by employer; valid driver’s license. Public transportation is not available.
