Job summary

Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region is seeking skilled foster caregivers (single or couples) to reside in an agency-owned home and provide care for up to four youth with complex needs—helping them remain in their local community while working toward family reunification.

Minimum two-year commitment with compensation details and supports including 24/7 after-hours assistance and in-home clinical supports.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related field (preferred).
• Experience with children and youth with complex needs is an asset.
• Must live in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

FOSTER THE FUTRE. We are seeking skilled foster caregiver(s) (single or coupled) to reside in an agency-owned home and provide care for up to four (4) youth with complex needs—helping them remain in their local community while working toward family reunification.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and a nurturing home for up to four (4) youth.
• Support youth to stay connected to school, community, and routines.
• Collaborate with the care team to promote safety, stability, and well-being.
• Participate in care planning with in-home clinical supports and your foster resource worker.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Hold a degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related social service discipline (preferred)
• Professional experience working with children and youth with complex needs an asset
• Ready to work as a member of a team
• Single or coupled. From all diverse backgrounds
• Candidates must currently live in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application
• Provide a clear broad sector police check, satisfactory CAS background check and medical.
• Valid Class G drivers license as well as your own transportation.
• Proceed through the foster onboarding process (homestudy, training requirements)

Commitment

Minimum two-year (2) commitment required.

Compensation, Living Arrangements & Supports

• Annual remuneration up to $87,600 (non-taxable income).
• Reside in an agency-owned and operated home provided for the role.
• Basic living expenses provided, including rent, utilities, and groceries.
• Support services available, including 24/7 after-hours assistance.
• In-home clinical supports available.
• Dedicated foster resource worker support.
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) benefits and peer support available.
