Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our team. As an operator, you will play a critical role in our erosion control projects, ensuring precise excavation and efficient use of attachments. If you have experience operating skid steers and a passion for environmental stewardship, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Excavation Tasks:
  • Operate skid steer equipment to perform excavation work, including grading, trenching, and earthmoving.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to achieve accurate excavation depths and slopes.
  • Safely maneuver the skid steer on various terrains, adapting to changing conditions.
  • Follow project plans and specifications for excavation tasks.
  • Attachment Expertise:
  • Utilize a variety of skid steer attachments, such as buckets, trenchers, augers, sweepers, and silt fence plow.
  • Efficiently switch between attachments based on project requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance on attachments and report any issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper attachment installation and secure operation.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and address any safety concerns.
  • Promote a safe work environment for yourself and fellow team members.
  • Quality and Precision:
  • Achieve precise grade levels and finish work according to project specifications.
  • Pay attention to detail to minimize environmental impact during excavation.
  • Work closely with surveyors and engineers to maintain accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of skid steer operation experience.
  • Proficiency in excavating and using various attachments.
  • Landscape grading.
  • Transporting, loading, and unloading of equipment.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
  • Familiarity with different skid steer attachments.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork.
  • Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
  • Reading grades and interpreting slopes.
  • Leading crews.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Required.
  • Experience with Hydro-seeding would be considered an asset.
