Job summary

Saunders Landscaping is seeking full-time Skid Steer Operators for the landscape season in the Calgary area. You must drive to sites daily, have a hard hat and steel-toed boots.

Duties include inspections, on-schedule work, safe operation, and assisting with physical tasks as needed. Applicants should have at least 5 years of skid steer experience, capable of operating track and tire machines, and communicate well with crew members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience operating skid steers.
  • Must operate both track and tire equipment safely.
  • Ability to communicate with crew, forepersons and other trades.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina for cab activity and task switching.
  • Must be reliable, punctual and a team player.
  • Other construction and safety training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment inspections.

  • Operate equipment safely and effectively while protecting property.
  • Demonstrate landscaping knowledge such as fine grading and topsoil spreading.
  • Conduct work in OH&S compliant manner.
  • Assist crews with physical tasks if skid steer work finishes early.

Job description

LOCATION: Calgary and Surrounding Area
WAGE: $25.00 /hour

JOB INFORMATION:

Saunders Landscaping is looking for full-time Skid Steer Operators for our upcoming Landscape season. Our crews work Monday-Saturday. We are a commercial landscape construction company that works in Calgary and surrounding area. Our crews work Monday-Saturday.

You must be able to drive to site(s) daily, have a hard hat, and steel toed boots.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment inspections.
  • Perform assigned work on schedule, and as directed.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and effective manner while avoiding damage to company and other property.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of landscaping, such as fine grading and spreading of topsoil.
  • Conduct work in accordance with OH&S requirements.
  • Be prepared to assist crews with physical tasks if skid steer work is completed onsite.

What you need to be considered:

  • Require a minimum of 5 years experience operating skid steers.
  • Must be able to operate both track and tire equipment safely and professionally.
  • Ability to communicate with crew members, forepersons, and other trades.
  • Ability to prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good eye/hand coordination.
  • Physical ability to handle prolonged sitting, jostling in the cab and getting in and out of a skid steer.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable, punctual, possess a positive attitude, and a team player.
  • Other construction and safety training considered an asset.
