Main Purpose & Function
The Sub-foreman Trades is a working supervisory position responsible for leading, directing, supervising and coordinating the daily and weekly activities of assigned work crew(s). Subordinate work crew(s) perform both skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of landscape areas in the park system and sports fields.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to effectively plan, organize, allocate, review and participate in the assigned duties of subordinates while ensuring the safety of work crews and proper use materials, tools and equipment. While supervising the work crew(s), the incumbent will be responsible for allocating, checking and reviewing the work performed by the crew. This position is also responsible for maintaining shop records and parts, assisting in the development or application of new and improved work methods and techniques and performing related work as required.
