In addition to patrolling assigned areas, monitoring security systems, securing buildings, enforcing Bylaws compliance, use of Mobile Surveillance, elements of outreach work, investigating complaints, gathering evidence and information for detailed reports, and responding to incidents, you will have a focus on team leadership.

This position also offers ample opportunity and experience to work alongside RCMP and Bylaw, which is invaluable to anyone looking to enter these fields. There may be a need to appear and testify in court as a witness for certain incidents depending on their nature.

For individuals seeking Permanent Residency, this role meets the TEER 2 requirement.

We are seeking individuals who are proactive and will actively engage with their team, both coaching our REOs and offering guidance and feedback. This position ultimately involves bringing each team member first to the standard and then growing them past it.

Pay: $32.50

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead by example in the field and actively coach the team on a daily basis. Write and conduct Performance Reviews, issue Disciplinaries, and support each team member in the workplace.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain and submit Timesheets, assist with new trainee onboarding, communications with city staff, and ensure clear communication up and down the Chain of Command.

  • Monitoring: Operate and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • By-law Enforcement: Ensure compliance by all persons in our designated sites through progressive escalation.

Some commonly enforced bylaws include:

Body Cameras: Follow and comply with all policies and procedures in relation to wearing and using a body camera for the duration of the shift.

Engagement with Public: Interact with various members of the public, offering support and promoting voluntary compliance as required with compassion, empathy, and respect.

De-Escalation and Incident Management: Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage and resolve conflicts or aggressive behavior.

Work Conditions:

  • Schedule Flexibility: You may be required to support other shifts/positions as per the requirements of the site.
  • Environment: Duties will involve working in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions and environments daily, partially indoors but mainly outdoors.
