Are you the one we’re looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highlymotivated Site Supervisor who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.

You will be working in the program, as part of a team, providing a positive learning environment that supports children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth and development. Wesley’s Registered Early Childhood Educators care for and observe children each day to understand and foster their interests and provide an engaging and stimulating environment and program.

This position is a unionized, full-time, temporary position. The rate of pay is $22.51 per hour, and varies from $25.21 - $28.21 based on eligible wage top-ups. The contract is starting June 23, 2025, and will go until January 14, 2025. This position is 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, plan, promote, implement, and evaluate day-to-day operations of the programs with the support of the Supervisor Early Years and other staff.
2. Accept program registrations, provide program information and orientation for families requiring care, and maintain secure child files.
3. Be knowledgeable about and comply with all Ministry of Education, Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 legislated/licensing requirements and ensure licensing requirements are abided to at all times
4. Implement all required daily, weekly, and monthly procedures, and secure storage of all documentation.
5. Plan and implement programming based on the Ministry of Education’s pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen?”
6. Create and maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the interests and needs of the children in the program.
7. Be familiar with and adhere to licensing requirements per the Ministry of Education, Child Care and Early Years Act (2014).
8. Provide quality, play-based learning and supervision of all children in the care of Wesley Urban Ministries at all times.
9. Ensure program needs are being met and in compliance with program licensing requirements.
10. Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

1. Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (minimum 1 year registered).
2. Minimum 2 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator, working with children from infants to school age, and their families. Experience and sensitivity working with all families including those culturally diverse, LGBTQ, young parents, etc.
3. Two to five years of experience working with parents and with community partners.
4. Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Child Care and Early Years Act (2014).
5. Current First aid/CPR, Safe Food Handling Certificate, Non Violent Crisis Intervention (N.V.C.I.) training. ECERS, SACERS training and Quest 1(High Five) training an asset. Driver’s license and use of a vehicle required.
