Responsibilities — deliver safe, compliant, and on-time projects
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate site activities to ensure proper execution of work according to timelines.
- Guide field teams (including laborers, industrial mechanics, and welders) by clarifying priorities, directives, and steps for completion.
- Ensure the availability of resources and materials by identifying needs for equipment, tools, and consumables, then forwarding requisitions to the purchasing manager.
- Facilitate operational meetings with teams and provide technical support, advice, training, and necessary directives for the work.
- Implement and enforce health and safety requirements (including the use of PPE), and plan safety breaks with the site safety manager according to the established frequency.
- Monitor project progress daily with the estimator-project manager, produce daily reports (hours and resources), and have reports signed by the client when required.
- Manage operational issues on sites, implement corrective actions within your authority, and recommend measures to your superior when financial impacts are possible.
Profile sought — essential requirements and expected leadership style
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar site functions.
- Hold a DEC in mechanical engineering or a combination of relevant training and experience related to the position.
- Possess a general health and safety card for construction sites (ASP Construction).
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Exhibit mobilizing leadership and strong interpersonal skills to guide and lead a team.
- Prioritize health and safety at work and maintain high standards of rigor on-site.
- Communicate clearly and manage priorities methodically, even when timelines are tight.
