Summary : This is a hands-on working Supervisory position mainly focused on interior finishing and will also lead a small crew of Technicians. The Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising all construction activities on the work site, ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency. Impeccable documentation and communication habits are essential. The Supervisor will oversee various restoration projects caused by fire, smoke, wind, water, mold, asbestos, etc., working with property owners and reporting to the Production Manager. They will collaborate to ensure projects are completed timely and within budget.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
General Requirements
- Ensure respectful and professional communication with employees, customers, adjusters, sub-trades, and partners.
- Maintain professional attire, especially when representing the company.
- Be available for on-call hours as part of the emergency response team.
- Follow directions during CAT events while continuing regular duties, reporting progress accordingly.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and systems, leading by example.
- Present a positive image of the company to all employees and clients.
- Update and develop skills through training.
- Build trusting relationships with adjusters and clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Identify new business opportunities and encourage referrals.
- Respond quickly to concerns with accurate documentation to maintain satisfaction.
- Promote the company and foster community relationships.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Health and Safety
- Comply with Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
- Take precautions to protect yourself and workers from hazards.
- Report hazards and recommend safety improvements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow safety training and enforce policies.
Site Supervisor
- Supervise and lead the crew in reconstruction work, managing time, costs, and quality to meet KPIs and budget expectations.
- Assist with rebuilding efforts, requiring skills in drywall, taping, painting, and carpentry.
- Optimize use of labor, equipment, and materials; report on safety, costs, and change orders.
- Monitor work quality and ensure a clean, deficiency-free site.
- Motivate and mentor team members.
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Ensure timely arrival of materials and personnel.
- Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure contract compliance.
- Contribute to process improvements and support departmental procedures.
- Communicate work status and claims to the Production Department.
- Ensure proper documentation, including sign-offs and paperwork.
- Use electronic tools for documentation and communication.
- Report accidents and near misses promptly.
- Accurately record labor hours and manage purchase orders.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a proficient tradesperson.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction.
